Photo Upload Tips and Tricks

THE WEBSITE ISN'T CROPPING THE WAY I WANT. WHAT DO I DO?

There are a couple things to consider here:

  • If you are uploading your photos to a gallery, remember that those photos will always show as square thumbnails until you select them to view.
  • If the crop tool isn't working as you hoped, we recommend using an online photo editor like Canva to crop your photos first.

WHY WON'T MY PHOTOS UPLOAD?

There may be a few reasons! What you want to check is:

  • What format are your photos in? We accept most formats except for .hdic, usually, iPhone live photos.
  • Are your photos too big? Photos should be 1MB or less. We recommend a maximum upload size of 5 MB. If you need help checking your size, send over your image in reply to this email, and we can check for you.
  • Are your photos too small? Your pictures must be at least 500x500 and 72ppi to upload to our site. Otherwise, they'll be too blurry.
  • How is your internet connection? If you see the loading circle load and load, you may need to connect to a stronger wifi. Uploading photos takes a fair amount of work on your device.

MY COVER PHOTO KEEPS CROPPING MY PHOTO, HELP!

Cover photos must have an aspect ratio of 2:1 (1200x600 minimum, 5000x3300 maximum), which is likely why you see the system forcing you to crop! While we don't have the option to use a vertical photo and not crop, you can always use a tool like Canva to create a file size that's 1200x600 pixels, insert your image, and then use a background color to fill in the edges.
