How do I set up my Cash Fund?

Setting up The Knot Cash Fund allows couples to receive cash gifts for specific goals such as a honeymoon, home down payment, or newlywed experiences. Guests can contribute to a couple’s Cash Fund on The Knot through their direct credit card or Venmo account.

Follow these steps on a desktop computer to set up your Cash Fund on The Knot:

1. Log in to your account on The Knot.
2. Select “Registry” from the main menu.
3. Click on “Add Cash Funds” from the dropdown menu.
4. Select from The Knot’s popular suggested Cash Funds, such as a honeymoon or new home fund,  or add a custom Cash Fund to personalize. 
5. Add a Fund Name and optional notes to guests. 
6. Toggle between “Any Amount” or “Fixed Amount” to determine how guests can contribute.
7. Select “Add.”

Next, follow these steps to link a bank account to a Cash Fund on The Knot: 

1. Add Cash Funds to The Knot Registry.
2. Select “Registry” from the main menu.
3. Click on “Registry Settings” from the dropdown menu.
4. Select “Payment Details.”
5. Verify your identity by providing information that matches a current ID photo.
6. Link your bank account by entering your routing number and checking account number.
7. Select the check box to confirm agreement to the privacy policy.
8. Click “Submit.” 

If a couple chooses to add Venmo to The Knot Cash Fund, follow these steps to set up:

1. Add Cash Funds to The Knot Registry.
2. Select “Registry” from the main menu.
3. Click on “Registry Settings” from the dropdown menu.
4. Select “Payment Details.”
5. Add your Venmo account details.
6. Click “Submit.” 

Tips for a Successful The Knot Cash Fund Setup:

• Enter information manually. Avoid browser autofill when entering banking information, as autofill can occasionally populate incorrect routing or account numbers.
• Use a physical address. A physical address is required for identity verification. PO Boxes and APO addresses cannot be used.
• Use a US checking account. Savings accounts and wire instructions are not supported for The Knot Cash Fund deposits.
• Upload a clear government-issued ID. Provide a color image of the front and back of your ID when prompted.
• Ensure information matches exactly. The name and date of birth on your ID should match the information on your registry profile to help prevent verification delays.
